Technology can block many attacks. People stop the rest. Here is why training is now a security control in its own right.
One Click is All It Takes
A control-room engineer at a power utility opens an email that appears to come from a trusted equipment supplier. A contractor plugs a USB drive into an isolated plant workstation to transfer a file. An employee reuses an old password on a remote-access account that has no second login check.
None of them means any harm. Yet each of these everyday moments has already caused real damage in critical sectors:
- Phishing: in December 2015, spear-phishing emails sent to staff at Ukrainian power distribution companies gave attackers a foothold that later cut electricity to around 225,000 customers.
- USB drives: Stuxnet, the malware that damaged uranium-enrichment equipment in Iran, is widely believed to have entered its air-gapped target on an infected USB drive.
- Weak passwords: in 2021, a single compromised password for an unused VPN account let ransomware into Colonial Pipeline, the largest fuel pipeline in the United States, which shut down operations for several days.
- Ransomware closer to home: in November 2022, a ransomware attack on AIIMS New Delhi forced one of India’s leading hospitals to run on manual processes for days.
In critical sectors, one unprepared person can turn a routine task into a national incident.
As organisations become more dependent on digital systems, cybersecurity is no longer the IT department’s problem alone. It is everyone’s responsibility. Firewalls, monitoring tools and security software matter, but they can still be undone by a single person who does not recognise a threat when it arrives.
For organisations that run Industrial Control Systems (ICS), the stakes are higher still. In a power plant, factory or utility, a cyber incident does not just affect data. It can affect machines, physical processes and the safety of the people working around them.

From Awareness to Action
Good cybersecurity training goes far beyond reminders about strong passwords and suspicious links. It builds the judgement to recognise a threat, the discipline to follow the right procedure, and the confidence to act quickly under pressure. A well-trained workforce helps an organisation:
- Reduce human risk: Recognise phishing, social engineering and other common attack techniques before they succeed.
- Strengthen technical defences: Apply sound practices in network security, system administration and secure architecture.
- Manage cyber risk: Identify vulnerabilities, assess their potential impact and put the right controls in place.
- Respond to incidents effectively: Detect suspicious activity, contain the threat and recover with minimal disruption.
- Stay compliant: Understand the security frameworks, regulations and governance requirements that apply to them.
For organisations that manage both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT), specialised training is essential. Attacks increasingly move from business networks into industrial systems, and teams must learn to make security decisions that also protect safety and operational continuity.
A National Accreditation for Zettawise
Zettawise Consulting Pvt. Ltd. has been accredited by the Quality Council of India (QCI) and the National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre (NCIIPC) as India’s only accredited Training Body for IT/ICS Cyber Security.
This recognition reflects Zettawise’s commitment to building the skilled professionals India needs to protect its digital ecosystem and critical infrastructure. It also sets a clear standard for organisations choosing a training partner: specialised, structured and nationally recognised.
What Zettawise’s Training Covers
Zettawise offers training across the core domains of cybersecurity:
- Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC): Align security practices with business objectives, regulations and industry standards.
- Security architecture: Design and maintain secure technology and system environments.
- Network and system security administration: Manage and protect enterprise networks and systems day to day.
- ICS cybersecurity: Build specialised skills to protect industrial systems and operational processes.
- Vulnerability, threat and risk management: Find weaknesses, evaluate threats and prioritise what to fix first.
Learning By Doing
People remember what they practise. Zettawise’s Hybrid Cyber Range, powered by diZiTwin™ and diZiTandav™, lets participants face realistic attack scenarios and practise their response in a safe, controlled environment, without any risk to live systems.
Participants can also work hands-on in Zettawise’s IT/OT Security Lab, where they see how cyber threats affect the systems that control physical infrastructure, and practise the security response process on them.
Proven With Leading Institutions
Zettawise’s training is already making an impact:
- Power Sector: for the past three years, Zettawise has partnered with IIT Kharagpur to deliver cybersecurity training for the power sector, consistently and successfully, and has trained more than 100 professionals from critical sectors. The most recent programme, held in September 2026, was a six-day Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) training for 25 officials associated with the Ministry of Power, Government of India, combining expert-led theory with practical exercises in the IT/OT Security Lab. Zettawise looks forward to continuing this programme in the years ahead.
- Leadership: Zettawise conducted a specialised cybersecurity workshop for senior professionals at the SBI Institute of Leadership.
